Grand opening of the Museum of Warsaw
The headquarters of the Museum of Warsaw in the Old Town Market Square was re-open to the public, with its new core exhibition "The Things of Warsaw". The grand opening took place on 26-28 May 2017.
The core exhibition"Things of Warsaw" consists of three parts: The Things of Warsaw, The Warsaw Data, and The History of Tenement Houses. Twenty one thematic rooms feature items that were witnesses and participants of the town’s history. They are a starting point for telling the stories of their owners and creators, as well as presenting the events and processes that formed Warsaw as we know it today.
All 300,000 items stored in the collection of the Museum of Warsaw have been carefully reviewed. Out of them, 7,352 were selected to be exhibited. Among them there are both works of art and objects of everyday use. All of them are original.
